HOW IS LIMESTONE USED AS A BUILDING MATERIAL?

Some of the oldest buildings in the world were constructed with limestone, including the pyramids. This is perhaps a testament to the durability and longevity of limestone as a building material. While it does corrode over time, corrosion on limestone structures is superficial and will not impact structural integrity. Another benefit to limestone is its versatility. From riprap boulders used to protect shorelines to chipped stone used as a base for roadways, limestone is the most versatile and durable of any natural building material.
HOW IS SAND USED IN CONSTRUCTION?
Sand has always been an important material for agriculture, landscape, and infrastructure. For construction purposes, silica sand is mostly used as an ingredient in concrete, which adds structure and coarseness along with other aggregates. Masonry sand is usually lighter and used when the concrete is more decorative than structural. Utility sand is used as a base material for
concrete and used to fill in holes and trenches to create a flat surface for foundations or roadways. Sand used in road construction allows for better grading, making it possible for the roads to move and curve with the landscape instead of cutting through it.
